Uganda Update - Riley & Nico Sharing the Game of Soccer

Today was definitely one of the best days we have had here in Uganda! Me, Riley, Chris, Angela, and a few other people held a clinic on a soccer field at a school. When we first saw the field, we didn't know how we were going to work with it. It was extremely high grass and goals made of wood. But, we gathered all the kids together and with a little help from a translator, held an "American soccer practice" on their field. We first put the kids through a warm up (about 30 kids). It was most likely their first time doing a warm up involving stretches and running. After, we did a passing and volleying drill which they loved! We did a few other activities before splitting up into 11 v 11 games. It ended up being around 80 kids all together. Today was a real eye opening day. We got to see how and where another country plays the game we love. Their style was about the same but the condition of the field made us realize how fortunate we are to play at College of Charleston, on a beautiful field. At the end of the day, we donated the soccer balls to the school and village which was an amazing feeling. The smiles on their faces were priceless, and they really appreciated our help and time!
