Kenny Koretsky, a veteran on the NHRA and IHRA circuits and Owner of KPK Motorsports

-- May 28 2014
Kenny Koretsky, a veteran on both the NHRA and IHRA circuits, is the owner of KPK Motorsports and the driver of the team's Nitro Fish Wear/Mace/Bucks County Kawasaki Dodge Stratus Pro Stock which he competes on the NHRA Powerade Drag Racing Series.
Koretsky, has driven both Top Fuel Dragsters as well as Pro Stock in a career that dates back to 1976. He is the only driver to qualify both a Top Fuel Dragster and a Pro Stock Car in the same NHRA national event, a feat he accomplished in 1990 at Phoenix.
This Richboro, PA. Driver wouldn't settle for just qualifying both cars. In that event, he won his first round pairing in each class. However, during the second round of Top Fuel, an engine failure sent Koretsky into the sand trap at the top end of the track, cracking a vertebrae in his back, and ending the historic weekend.
Later that year, Koretsky recovered from his back injury in time to participate in a legendary charity event - a softball game pitting the heros of the NHRA against many of NASCAR'S top stars. Koretsky knocked in the winning run in the seventh inning to give the NHRA the win in this highly-publicized event.
Rather than follow the hectic pace of operating two drastically different race cars, together with a rule change implemented by the NHRA that prevents a driver from competing in two professional classes simultaneously, Koretsky returned to his roots and began building a loyal following as a Pro Stock driver.
Koretsky, who ran a limited schedule in 2001 and a part of 2002 because of business commitments, returned to the drivers seat full-time at the 2002 Brainerd, Minnesota NHRA event when he signed a primary marketing partnership with Mace Security International, Inc. Running the complete NHRA schedule in 2003, Kenny finished just outside the Top 10.
2004 had been a year of change for the KPK Motorsports team. In January it was announced that drag racing's original merchandising brand, Nitro Fish Wear would join KPK Motorsports as the primary sponsor of a brand new Dodge Status Pro Stock, featuring powerplants from reknowned Pro Stock engine builder and driver, Larry Morgan and Pro Stock Bob Glidden. Mace Securities will return as an associate marketing partner, as well as Bucks County Kawasaki and Plaza Car Washes.
Away from the track, Koretsky is president and CEO of KPK Development, a real estate investment company. Married for 20 years, he and his wife Karen, have three children: Kenny Jr., Kyle, and Taylor. When not racing or attending to business, Koretsky enjoys golf, aviation, and boating.
